Dawn Ellen Hoffman

Dawn Ellen Hoffman lost her battle against cancer on June 15, 2019 at the age of 54 at the University of Maryland Medical Center surrounded by family and loved ones.

She was born on July 23, 1964 in Fairmont, WV and lived in Maryland for many years. She is survived by Carl DeWalt and their son Caleb Hoffman of Laurel MD.  She is also survived by her mother, Mary Tims Hoffman of Fairmont WV; Father, Clifford (Pooch) Hoffman and his wife Dorothy of Fairmont WV;  Her brother, Joel (Butch) Hoffman and his wife Tina of Plum Run WV; Sister, Noelle Hook of Fairmont WV; Sister, Courtney Corwin and her husband Josh of Rivesville WV.  Also, by her nieces and nephews, Sean Clark and his wife Candice of Fremont NE; Andy Clark and his wife Ana of Frederick MD; Kyle Hook of Polson MT; Olivia Hook of Fairmont WV; Samantha Hoffman of Plum Run WV; AJ Hoffman of Plum Run WV; Kylie Corwin of Rivesville WV and Zachary Corwin of Rivesville WV.  She is also survived by uncle, Martin Hoffman of Fairmont WV, aunt, Betty Burgess and her husband John of Baltimore MD, aunt, Beverly Hoffman of Rivesville WV.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Jarrett Hoffman, her aunt, Diana Hess and her husband Jim, uncle, Gary Hoffman and her grandparents, Stella and Clifford Hoffman and Johnnie and Delbert Dexter.

Dawn was employed by World Travel Network.  She also worked at Oliver’s Tavern for over 28 years where she made many lifelong friends. 

Her hobbies included making crafts and holiday treats, visiting Deep Creek Maryland and spoiling her son and pets.

 A memorial gathering will be held at Donaldson Funeral Home 313 Talbott Ave, Laurel MD 20707 on Saturday, June 22, 2019 from 11am until 2:00 pm.   The service will be held at 2 pm at the Donaldson Funeral Home Chapel.  At the conclusion of the service, there will be a celebration of her life that will be held at Oliver’s Tavern, 531 Main Street, Laurel MD 20707.
