Gail C. Turner, 97, August 15, 1921-June 13, 2019 of Sykesville, Maryland, born and raised in Denver, Colorado. Attended East High in Denver and was a graduate of Denver University class of 1943 majoring in Arts. She taught elementary school and worked as a switch board operator and went to the USO to help the soldiers. She met her husband Howard (Denver, CO) playing croquet in the minister’s backyard, they were married on January 12,1947. They had 2 children, Ron, November 4, 1947(widowed, Donna) of Reno, NV who is the survivor and they had Linda May 26,1950-April 13, 2015. The family were long time members of St. Paul Methodist Church and later with Grace United Methodist Church in Denver. After Howard’s passing in 1991 she moved to Silver Spring, Maryland to be with her daughter. She was a resident at Riderwood Independent living community. She was active in numerous activities at Riderwood including poetry and the Riderwood Studio Players. In 2016 she moved to Copper Ridge in Sykesville, Maryland to be closer to her Maryland Family. Ana wife of grandson Daniel visited and cared for her from nearby. They have four boys Alexander, Matthew, Joseph and Daniel Jr. She is also survived by her granddaughter Katrina and her son Vincent of South Carolina. Her ashes will be spread in one of their favorite places in the Rocky Mountain area of Colorado, to join those of her husband and her daughter.
