Charlotte Lavelle, age 81 passed away on November 26, after a long battle with Parkinsons
Disease at her home surrounded by family members. Charlotte was born in Hagerstown, Maryland to Clarence and Lillian Babington and grew up in a humble farmhouse in rural western Maryland. She was shy and soft-spoken with a positive and pleasant personality. Charlotte devoted her life to supporting her husband, Mike and her sons, Rodney and Troy and granddaughter Jessica. She was employed by both the CIA and DIA agencies as well as 17 years with Ernest Johnson Advertising Agency in DC. She loved baking cakes and would take them in to the office for the staff to enjoy. She was an avid fan of Elvis Presley and devoted an area of her home to his music and accomplishments. Charlotte’s main hobby was to draw and she showed off her talents with many fine drawings. She also enjoyed her vacations in Myrtle Beach and Ocean City with her family. Charlotte is survived by husband Michael, son Rodney/ Sharon, of Georgetown, De, son Troy/Tanya and grandson Braden, of Ellicott City, Md. and granddaughter Jessica of Ocean City, Md, and sister Paulene/Robert Stevens of Boonsboro, Md., and nephews Ricky and Randy and spouses of Boonsboro, Md.
Family and friends will be received at the Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A., 313 Talbott Avenue, Laurel on Saturday December 3, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM when the funeral service will begin, interment to follow at Union Cemetery in Burtonsville, Md. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Maryland Parkinsons Association.
