John Charles Halweg

John Charles “Jack” Halweg, age 82, passed away in Silver Spring, Maryland on Thursday, February 23, 2023.

Born July 12, 1940, in Mandan, North Dakota, son of Alfred Martin and Helen June. He lived in Silver Spring, Maryland for over 60 years. He started his career with Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone company, retiring after 36 years. During his tenure there, he was drafted into the Untied States Army where he served his country for 2 years. He then began a new opportunity with Montgomery County as a road inspector until retiring 10 years ago. Jack was a avid collector of antique telephones and telephone memorabilia. He also enjoyed researching his family genealogy.

Jack is survived by his siblings William Reed Halweg, Mary Helen Iski and Karen Lynne Everingham as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Jack was preceded in death by his parents (Alfred and Helen Halweg) and partner (Isabelle Shannon)

A funeral service will be held at The Chapel at Donaldson Funeral Home, P.A. 313 Talbott Ave. Laurel, Maryland 20707 On Thursday, May 18th, 2023, at 1pm. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Burtonsville, Maryland. Relatives and Friends are welcome.
