Raymond E. Donohue Jr. Obituary
On October 10, 2019 Raymond Edward Donohue, Jr. of Laurel, MD passed away peacefully after a battle with cancer at age 90. Raymond was born August 20, 1929 in Washington D. C., to loving parents the late Raymond Edward Donohue, Sr. and the late Dorothy Francis Donohue.
After graduating from Calvin Coolidge High School in D. C., he served honorably in the U. S. Navy aboard the aircraft carrier U. S. S. Midway, then worked as a cartographer for many years and retired from the Department of Defense, Defense Mapping Agency. He is survived by his sister Barbara Edwards (and her husband William), daughters Eileen Snyder (and her husband Robert), Katherine Reese (and her husband Ray) and Cheryl Sliter (and her husband Hans), daughter-in-law Crystal Donohue and seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his loving wife Phyllis Donohue, son Charles Donohue, sister Dorothy Slicer (and her husband Kenneth) and sister Patricia Freeman. As a devoted and loving father his passion was his family.
Being a talkative person he never met a stranger and could easily make you smile. He also cheered on the Washington Redskins and was a fan of all things James Bond.
Visitation will be held on Thursday October 17, 2019 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm at Donaldson Funeral Home of Laurel, P. A. 313 Talbott Avenue (Rt. 198 W), Laurel, MD where funeral services will be held at 8 pm. Graveside services will be held on Friday October 18, 2019, 11 am at Fort Lincoln Cemetery at 3401 Bladensburg Rd, Brentwood, MD 20722.
