Sue Floyd Obituary

Virginia Sue Floyd, 83, went to be with the Lord on July 9, 2020. She was residing in Laurel, Maryland.

Sue was born in West Virginia on June 16, 1937, to Flora Mae Legg and Claude Franklin Evans. She was raised for much of her childhood by her grandparents Ralph and Fannie Legg in West Virginia, before moving to Baltimore to attend Southern High School. It was then that she met and fell in love with her neighbor and high school sweetheart Charles “Bo” Floyd, who became her beloved husband of over 60 years. After raising three daughters, Sue went on to work at Harte-Hanks for many years.

Sue enjoyed spending time with family, and being a loving grandmother and eventually great-grandmother. She was always prepared with treats and gifts for all of her great-grandchildren. She was also an active member of the Grace Baptist Church in Laurel. Some of her favorite hobbies were creating scrapbooks and photo albums of her beloved family members and watching Hallmark movies, the Baltimore Orioles and Ravens.

Sue will be remembered for being a strong, caring, and loving wife, and for the love and devotion she always demonstrated for her family.

Sue is survived by her brother, Dean Evans (Barbara), three daughters: Linda Millis (Arthur Sepeta), Karen Riordan (Dennis), and Judy Phillips (Bill); seven grandchildren: Craig England (Becky) Melissa Callahan (Scott), Patrick Riordan, Michelle Kain (Stephen), Matthew Phillips, Amanda Massa (Sam), Andrew Phillips; and three great-grandchildren: Sloane Callahan, Dylan Callahan, and Isaac Kain.

Mrs. Floyd is preceded in death by her husband Charles “Bo” Floyd, three brothers, Dave Evans, James Evans, Eric Nielsen, and two sisters, Betty Cofiell and Patricia Strother.

Due to concerns for safety related to the coronavirus and social distancing restrictions, the funeral will be for invited guests only.  Others are invited to join us through live streaming on this zoom link: https://marymountuniversity.zoom.us/j/96602130931 on Thursday, July 16, at 9:45 AM
